This course will teach the basic Skills, Knowledge and Attitude necessary for owning and using a Pistol Safely.
MassPistol is located in Braintree, MA and specializes in training for anyone interested in obtaining their Class A or B license to Carry (LTC) or Firearm Identification Card (FID). This safety course qualifies for the Massachusetts State Police Basic Handgun Safety Certificate.
The Safety Course consists of both classroom and live-fire training at a local gun range. The course is taught by Michael McCusker, a certified NRA Rifle and Pistol Instructor with over 40 years of experience with firearms. He is also a Massachusetts State Police Certified Firearms Safety Instructor.
In this course you will learn:
The Rules for Safe Gun Handling.
The different types of handguns and ammunition.
The Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting.
How to properly clean and store your firearms and ammunition.
The Classroom course is usually taught on Saturday mornings, At the Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club. Students will then follow up the classroom in the Range, Practicing the skills learned in the classroom. The cost for the course is $150 which includes all of your range time and ammuntion. Classes are Private to allow for a more personal and private learning experience. Students will recieve the NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate AND the Massachusetts State Police Basic Firearms Safety Certificate for LTC.
Whether you are interested in recreational shooting, competitive shooting, hunting, protection of self and family or collecting firearms, this course will provide you with the proper knowledge and attitude to be a confident and safe gun owner.

BOSTON RESIDENTS ....
We are specialists in the Boston Residents Class.
Boston will require you to take a shooting test to qualify
for a license. We go over the test with you, then allow you
to take a practice test. When you go to Boston to take your test,
you will already know what to do to pass.
